Me, or the OP? (sorry to hijack the thread!)
Quite a lot - I've done a fair bit with projection mapping and multi-surface video playback using other applications from MacOS and never had similar issues, so I'm fairly sure this is specific to DCP-O-Matic. The environment I'm using it in uses QLab extensively, with QLab's control interface being on the main screen and outputting to projectors and we've never had similar issues.
Indeed I've been known to work around this by converting DCP to ProRes and playing out from QLab, but I'd rather be able to play the raw DCP to avoid the additional couple of hours necessary to transcode files before screening them.

Okay, yes, there may also be large differences there between different Mac OS versions, Intel vs. Apple Silicon, etc. Carl would probably like DOM player to be a fully capable presentation player, but I guess it's not that easy, especially for a multi-platform software. I myself always considered it more a verification/QC option. For presentation, the best solution currently seems to be NeoDCP.

I have the same problem here. Latest version. Mac Studio M2 Max 64. Is there a solution for that now?rshm wrote: Fri Feb 14, 2025 10:12 am Wasn't sure whether to start a new thread but it seems my problem is related (if not identical) to this, apologies if you think it should be a new thread - happy to move it!
Using DCP-o-matic (2.18.11) on an M4 Mac, in Full Screen mode it works perfectly, but without the playback status etc.
When using Dual Screen mode with an external display/projector, I lose the menu bar on the primary (local) display (and therefore access to any settings other than via keyboard shortcut) which is frustrating, but not a real problem.
The bigger issue is that the external display still shows the top window chrome (albeit with only the "close" (red) button enabled) and, on occasion that window doesn't fill the screen. It's as if the application is putting the primary display into full screen mode (and removing the menu bar etc) whilst leaving the other screen (which is playing the DCP) as a window.
For a player like that, in my opinion it would be best solution to do it Linux based as a "Live system" just for that player purpose without all the other OS parts. Basically how the "official" Dolby, Doremi etc. servers works.Carsten wrote: Fri Feb 21, 2025 2:03 pm Carl would probably like DOM player to be a fully capable presentation player, but I guess it's not that easy, especially for a multi-platform software.
