Let's suppose have an already finished DCP in English. For simplicity sake, 1 single reel.
My task is to use this DCP to create a new DCP, dubbed in Spanish.
Client wants that the title sequence appears in Spanish. For that purpose I have the textless sequence in ProRes and tiff and have recreated the title graphic in Spanish. All works perfect in the ProRes format (Davinci Resolve)
How can I replace the original title sequence in the DCP with minimal effect on the rest of the DCP? My idea is to split the DCP in DOM in 3 "reels": pre-title, title and post-title. Then replace the title reel video asset. Is this a good idea?
My other idea would be to find a way to losslessly edit the complete video mxf (in xyz format) inserting the customized title (also in xyz format) to create a new complete video mxf for use in DOM.
I'd like to avoid a complete reencoding from ProRes.
Has anyone done this?
Thanks!

hard cuts between the segments? You can just add your existing DCP to a new project, trim the title segments in DCP-o-matic, then add your two titled segments in Prores format, and compile a new DCP. Unless you tick 'recompress', the main feature will be passed through unaltered.
You need to set the DCP properties identical to the pre-existing DCP - there is a quick way to do this when you right-click on the DCP after you added it to the source list.
