Hi quick question

How do DCPs render italic text? In my OS I have different files (.ttf) for Normal and Italic versions (and other variants) But AFAIK the DCP just uses one font file. Are the italics simply slanted? Thanks

If you use timed-text subtitles, italics is a real-time effect that is rendered on the projector side.
