If the DOM Player reads a DCP and asks for KDM then does it mean that the DCP files are correct in terms of size upto bits?
I am asking this as I have had some issues in copying the files at times (I am using rsync) which I have corrected by individually ryncing the diff files but if i start using dcp_inspect or individual file checkums to compare them to the origin then it takes a lot of time.
Also in one particular instance, DOM player was complaining for a file which was showing exact size as the original file but I still had to delete it and copy it again before DOM player started loading the DCP properly.
Basically looking for the fastest way to determine the DCP integrity.

OK,
the exact size of a file does not say everything about it, only the checksum calculating gives you a confident result.
The time to calculate this, depends on the hardware and the operating system you are using.
The 'fastes way' here is not the best way.
Kind regards

Does the fact that DOM player is able to load the DCP and ask for KDM and then subsequently play the movie after providing the KDM count as a "successful ingest and play" later on in the cinema?

No,
that is not the case. I had have several DCPs that were able to play* in DOM-Player but had a checksum error when verifying!
*While playing some of the frames showed unexpected artefacts in the pictures.
Kind regards

No, that's why there is a separate verification option in player (and Verifier).
