Audio delay/offset option in DCP Player?
Hi everyone, I’m using DCP Player on a Mac and would like to run it with a projector. As expected, there’s an audio delay when sending the signal to the projector (usually something in the range of 100–200 ms). Is there currently any way to offset the audio in DCP Player? It would be very useful if such a feature could be implemented in a future update. In the meantime, does anyone here who uses a Mac know of any alternative method or workaround to delay the audio for proper sync with the projector? Thanks a lot in advance!

There isn't a control for that at the moment but it would not be so hard to add. I'll see what I can do.

Dear Carl, you’re truly amazing. An audio delay option would be very useful in setups with a projector. If you manage to implement it, I’ll certainly make sure to show my appreciation

In the meantime, you might want to give a go to SimpleDelay of Static Z Software or Audio Hijack from Rogue Amoeba.

If the audio is played back with a delay due to processing in the projector, should't the video be delayed in DOM to compensate?

We should have a slider that allows adjustment between positive and negative values. Usually, video delays should only be a few frames, but depending on the full video pipeline (e.g. video streaming encoders or rf transmission), it could be much more. Then sometimes audio may be transmitted through Bluetooth or streaming devices as well. This adjustment shoould probably go into prefs/Sound. Maybe it could even remember different settings for different devices?

I don't understand what kind of processing is taking place on PCM audio, but it doesn't matter. I misunderstood.
As far as I know and regretfully, none of the solutions I proposed can help you with video delay, until a solution is given via DCP-o-matic Player.
