Hello everyone,
I'm planning a screening event and received encrypted DCP (without subs) and soft subs (XML).
I don't know what shoud I do to use the subs.
just put the subs file in the package and ingest to projector?
I hope I don't need to make a new DCP because I don't have enough time.
Thank you for reading.

Hi, unfortunately unless you can get a KDM for the DCP and your copy of DCP-o-matic you can't add the subs. The KDM for your projector/server is not enough.

Thank you for your answer.
Then how can I use the soft subs?
Do I need to use two separate projectors—one for the film and another for the subtitles? Is this the only way?

That's the only way I can think of.

What about OV/VF ?
Is it impossible if the dcp is encrypted?
Can’t I make a VF for encrypted OV?

Re: Encrypted DCP and XML soft Subs
No, because the KDM you need to decrypt the OV will only work with the CPL ID that it was made for.

Re: Encrypted DCP and XML soft Subs
Did you get the encrypted DCP and the XML subtitles from the same entity? Maybe ask them what to do with the the XMLs. Maybe they will provide a DKDM towards your DCP-o-matic installation that will allow you to create a VF. If the XML subs come from a different/inofficial source, you are out of luck. Providing separate XML subtitle files is not an official DCI digital cinema procedure.
