Hi there,
We're trying to make a DCP for a feature film and have been experimenting with different gamma settings in order to match our original grading. Our colorist said that we should make sure to set the color settings to match a "Rec.709 Type A" spec, which he says is different from a regular Rec709 because Apple has a different gamma setting, or something like that.
Carl, we're wondering if you have experience with this and if DCP-o-matic adjusts for this? We're currently using Rec1886, which has the most correct output, though the blacks are a little darker.
Thank you!

Re: Rec709A compatibility
Some people consider rec.709 having a Gamma of 2.2. In reality, rec.709 has been superseded by BT.1886 with a Gamma of 2.4. Especially when you grade for a cinematic environment.
