Hi there,
I've been having errors and failures on ingesting DCPs at the AMC.
The first error I had they told me said something about files being corrupt and "content naming issues"
I've attached an image of the "first_pass"
- these failed apparently at around half way
So I created a few test smaller DCPs just to see if I could figure out the issue, and these worked:
"DmttcFamilyBlo_FTR-1_F_EN-XX_MOS_2K_20250203_SMPTE_OV"
"Dmttc1_SHR_F-178_EN-xx_20_2K_20250203_SMPTE_OV"
And these did not:
"EFFBlockFOUR_SHR-1_F-178_EN-XX_20_2K_20250204_IOP_OV"
Attached as "second_pass"
- these failed right at the end of ingestion
And then oddly this worked:
"Family_FTR-1_F-178_EN-XX_20_2K_20250204_SMPTE_OV"
Does anyone have any insight on how to go about this? Is it possible that there are files within the film file that is corrupting the ingestion?
This is not my speciality, so any help would be great!
When exporting these DCPs I receive no issues on the message end, and I am able to playback the DCPs via DCP-o-matic Player.
I'm dropping off another pass of DCPs in a little bit and hoping these work following the same settings as the most recently successed one.

Re: AMC Ingesting Failure
These all sound like problems with the transfer of the files to AMC. How are you doing that? With a hard drive? What process are you using to format the drive and copy the files?

Re: AMC Ingesting Failure
I've been using 2 hard drives for delivery, and with the recent delivery it looks like one of the hard drives wasn't being read at all.
One is a 1tb Toshiba (they said their system indicates the size of the drive but can't read anything on the drive)
Other is a 2tb LaCie (this one I've had success with 1 DCP so far)
(both don't require additional power, just the USB-B/C cable)
Both formatted as ExFat
I've been building the DCPs with a file directory directly to the hard drives.
And then moving the file to the top/root of the drive.

Re: AMC Ingesting Failure
Agree with Carl, this is not a DCP-o-matic related problem, but is caused by file or transfer corruption.
ExFAT is not officially supported. You should use NTFS. I assume you work on a Mac? Then use Tuxera for NTFS, or try DCP-o-matic Disk Writer.
It may be that the Toshiba drive comes with a free Tuxera NTFS license. Some models do.
Otherwise: https://ntfsformac.tuxera.com/try-befor ... by-tuxera/
Stay away from Paragon NTFS or ext2/3 drivers.
