So I've created a DCP in DaVinci Resolve for a 10 minute short.
The DCP is about 16GB - It's 2K DCI Flat at around 140Mbps.
I just want to add two SRT subtitle files to the package without re-encoding. I created a nw project, imported the DCP, added the two srt files. "Re-encode JPEG2000 data" is deselected in the DCP tab, but when I go to Make DCP it takes half an hour and spits out a 700GB file!
Any Ideas?
I am using 2.18.9. This happens on both my macs, the M4 (Seqouia) and the Intel one (Sonoma)

Maybe you can attach the metadata.xml from your project folder, or email it to carl@dcpomatic.com

Re: Big issues trying to add subtitles
Thanks for the reply, I eventually realised that it was because the starting timecode in DaVinci was set to 10:00:00:00, and this led to DCP-O-Matic trying to make a 10 hour DCP from this, based on the subtitle timecodes.
After exporting again from DaVinci with the project starting timecode set to 00:00:00:00 everything works as expected, and the export with added subtitles takes around 30 seconds.

Re: Big issues trying to add subtitles
It's good practice, when adding subtitles (or any essence), to check how it looks on the preview window.
