Hello all...
I've attempted to transfer several Hitchcock films to DCP. They are all American releases and taken from the stand alone versions, as well as from the "Alfred Hitchcock: The Masterpiece Collection" box set. The movies that I've tried to convert are "Rear Window", "Vertigo", "Psycho" and "The Birds." They all start out fine, but after awhile they are badly out of sync. By the end of the film they are three to four seconds off. It's almost as though they are really 25 fps, but these releases are 23.976 Blu-rays. I have only ever had this problem with the Hitchcock movies, no other time has this happened-- at least no time that I wasn't able to correct. I even retried creating "Psycho" again three days ago and on a different computer, and the same problem continues. I've used four different computers now. They are all Windows PCs, no Mac has ever been used (if that would even be an issue, I don't know). Does anybody know what is happening or how to rectify it? Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Audio goes badly out of sync...
How do you create the intermedia files for the conversion - what format is it? What does the content tab say below all the options about frame rate, audio rate, conversion, etc.?
If you do let DCP-o-matic do the job fully automatic, it should interprete the frame rate as 24fps and do some slight resampling of the audio to adjust from the 23,97 to 24fps reference. Something about this part seems to go wrong with your conversion.
Which version of DCP-o-matic are you using?
