Hi all,
I'm running the current beta version of DCP-o-matic (2.5.187 git 969546a2b5), and that one gives me errors whenever I want to add a video that I downloaded from YouTube:
The file is not added to the asset list, and nothing else can be done.
Can anybody tell me what is going on here and how to fix this? Is this a known error of the current beta?
I have uploaded a small sample file that throws this error to
Hi, This test version should fix the error when loading the file, but our decoder library FFmpeg does not seem to want to decode the sample video at all... perhaps it's to do with how you cut the segment out? Could you try that build with your full file and see what happens?
Hi Carl,
i downloaded and installed the test version
But adding the clip still fails. I've tried it with both the small sample and the larger file (plus a third, completely different clip also downloaded from youtube) - all three just report a slightly different error than before:
Just a quick addendum: all three clips run without problems when using ffplay.exe (ffplay version 4.4.1-essentials_build-www.gyan.dev) running on Windows 10, so it does not seem to be a general compatibility issue with ffmpeg.
Another option to solve this is to load the videoclip from youtube again in MP4 format. There seem to be a lot of decent free online Youtube-MP4 converters around now that support also HD.
Hi,
I quickly scanned a few files previously downloaded from YouTube, and the parsing errors seem to have vanished. So, it looks good, I will report back if I encounter any errors further down the DCP creation pipeline.
