CC lines showing in reverse order.

Post by kfairchild »

When viewing CC with the Dolby Captiview the caption lines appear in reverse order.

Captions were created with Subtitle Edit. Saved using the D-Cinema SMPTE 2014 format.
Caption source file attached. As well as the output xml from dcpomatic.

The dcpomatic player does show the lines in the correct order, but playback through the Dolby Captiview does not.
It appears that dcpomatic is reversing the order in the xml output.

Hi,
Thanks for the report! I think I can see what needs to change in DCP-o-matic to fix this. I made a note on our tracker. I'm away for a few days but I'll take a look when I get back.

Using Valign is mentioned in Harolds CCAP best practice document:

The Valign and Vposition values for the Text elements look correct, but as pointed out in the ISDCF document, some systems require the top line of text to be the first Text element. Here it is the bottom. That complies with SMPTE ST 428-7, but does not work properly on this system.
