ATMOS PACKAGE

Post by DarkShadoq »

Hello, will it be possible to create Atmos packages via dcp o'matic?
This is a very good software and it would be cool if you could do it.

Hi,

Packaging of DCPs with ATMOS MXFs is pretty much done, though I think not *quite* complete (I'd have to check). Is this what you need?

There's no way we can create the MXFs ourselves, though: that's all proprietary.

SMPTE has just finished the standard for object based audio for cinema applications. So, ATMOS will not remain the only system.

That said, the actual authoring of such soundtracks will forever be beyond the scope of DCP-o-matic, as Carl already said, but I am sure that more options will turn up, e.g. in the more advanced audio editing systems.
