Re: Unexpected node image error when importing a DCP
BTW Carl - I don't know wether this is covered in detail in the interop specs, but as I noticed some of your dev notes regarding scaling of PNGs - there was an issue with the DCP 'The Revenant' about 2-1/2 years back - it was interop and 4k, and, for some reason, subtitled with PNGs in some european countries. These PNGs were 4k, but, as we learned the hard way, 4K PNGs are not allowed in Interop, and the DCP caused some issues on various servers.
So, they had to remaster a new DCP (which then used timed text XML). So, in Interop, one should rescale 4k PNGs to 2k when creating the DCP. I don't know what servers do when playing 2k PNGs with a 4k cpl/video mxf - maybe it is not possible to play PNGs within a 4k CPL at all...because I think I have read somewhere that PNGs should have the same resolution as the video MXF/main picture. Once we can use our own PNGs for that feature, I may be able to test this on a range of servers.
