VF to add Subtitles - Query

Post by Guddu »

I tried creating a VF in order to add subtitles to a existing encrypted DCP but the subtitles are not showing up when I load the VF in DOM Player

The VF gets created fine. When I see it in DCP O Matic window it shows the subtitle. But when I load this VF into DOM Player, it asks for OV. I load the OV and it asks for KDM. I select the DKDM that I generated for the VF and the window shows the video playing but does not show the subtitles. What could be wrong?

This is what my DCPOMatic window look like ---> http://prntscr.com/kg16tq

Have you got the right CPL selected in the "CPL" menu of the player?

Hmm. Following the screenshot, you chose to create a VF for xml subtitles, but burn-in the subtitles. Are you sure this is what you wanted to do? Not entirely sure what DCP-o-matic does in this case, if 'use this DCPs video and as OV and create VF' is checked? When burning in, an entirely new video has to be created. It's possible, of course to do it that way, but all other settings need to match.

Dear Carl, I continue to have problems with the subtitles.

I don't have the option to select the CPL in the CPL menu of the player. I am using version 2.12.6 of DOM.

I tried generating the DCP again without selecting the option to burn-in subtitles. I selected "use this DCPs video/Audio and as OV and create VF'" in Video and Audio tabs (on Subtitles tab this option is disabled). I generated the DCP then loaded the VF in DOM player. It asked for the OV. Loaded the OV and it asked for the KDM. I supplied the DKDM that i generated for the VF and it plays but again WITHOUT the subtitles.

Appreciate your help on this.

Can you post or email me (carl@dcpomatic.com) the file called cpl_something.xml from the VF?
