Hi all
I have an encrypted DCP and a DKDM for DoM.
I can add the DCP and the DKDM to my project and everything is ok.
When I add the mxf files and not the DCP folder, DoM crashes.
Is this a bug or it's a local issue?
I'm using the latest test version of DoM.
Thanks

Re: encrypted mxf
Sounds like a bug. What message do you get when it crashes?

Re: encrypted mxf
I get no message, DoM just closed.
I get message from windows about collecting information etc...
The DCP is created by clipster
Thanks

OK I'll see if I can reproduce that here.

Re: encrypted mxf
As just regular user here i thing this is completely normal.
The KDM/DKDM is given for the cpl of the DCP, so i think encrypted standalone mxf file will not be unencrypted via kdm by itself since the KDM/DKDM is for the whole DCP pack (CPL)
Maybe i am wrong but i thing this is very normal and is not a bug.

It's not normal.
In the past I was able to add mxf files and DoM was asking for KDM.
I also think that encryption regards the mxf files.
Yes you target the cpl for KDM/DKDM but I think the encrypted files are the mxf files.
Maybe I'm wrong too, but that's how I understood encryption.

Re: encrypted mxf
Without the DCP metadata, DCP-o-matic will not be able to assign a specific key to a specific asset, I'd say.
Just because there are 'some' keys in a KDM doesn't mean they magically find the files they serve to decrypt. Yes, in some simple cases it will probably work to extract the first key it finds and throw it at the MXF. But I guess it's an approach that can't be generalized.
Can you remember roughly which DCP-o-matic version allowed MXF asset decryption?
