DCP Playback - Missing Audio
Why can't i hear the audio when I play a DCP in DCP-o-matic? Only the video shows up and is kinda in slow motion. Audio is not playing at all. Is the player supposed to be capable of doing the audio playback?

What version of DCP-o-matic are you using? Have you enabled the "play sound" option in preferences? Are you using a fast machine (e.g. i7 class?)

Re: DCP Playback - Missing Audio
Thanks for your response...I am on Windows and version 2.10.5.
I don't see a "play sound" option in preferences and i believe that 2.10.5 is the latest version.

I am on ASUS ROG Series laptop and it took 5 hours to generate the DCP.

That version of DCP-o-matic does not support sound playback. You could experiment with the test version.

Re: DCP Playback - Missing Audio
That was good to believe until very recently (literally tonight). There is a test version (2.11.34 as of now) that supports audio in preview and player.
https://dcpomatic.com/test-download
The warning at the top concerned the previous test versions, and may not concern 2.11.34, but as that version is very new, Carl rightfully decided to leave the warning there until we get some more feedback on it. Have a go at 2.11.34.
Before you install it, backup your 2.10.5 config, as it may hurt going back to 2.10.5 if there are serious issues with 2.11.34. Unfortunately, you can't have both versions installed at the same time. Using 2.10.5 for production work is still encouraged until the test versions have earned more feedback.
Simply go to c:\Users\your_user_name\AppData\Local\ , right click 'dcpomatic2' and choose 'Send to -> Compressed (zipped) Folder'. Then rename the ZIP file created to dcpomatic2_10_5.zip. This will keep your current configuration, certificates and cinema database safe for a later restore. If you don't use encryption, etc., and if you are not concerned about your prefs, you may omit the backup process. But for future use, it is good to know how to do it...
If you don't see 'AppData' in your home folder, you need to follow this advice (it is usually hidden):
https://www.howtogeek.com/318177/what-i ... n-windows/
As a matter of fact, I never felt listening to audio was necessary in DCP-o-matic to create a DCP. I understand some people may think in a different way. Some people may fear that if they don't hear audio in DCP-o-matic, there will be no audio in the DCP. But that is wrong. Anyway, that's done with since 2.11.x
If your video plays in slow motion, your machine may be too slow (expect problems with audio playback as well), or your source video/codec may be too complex, or may even be a DCP/J2K file.

Re: DCP Playback - Missing Audio
I am trying to generate a encrypted DCP using an non-encrypted DCP as the input. I also want the subtitles to be burnt-in in the encrypted DCP (in the input DCP they are not burnt in and I don't know how they can be turned on by default).
So I load the input DCP and have the following settings
Video Tab : http://prntscr.com/hvbawy
Audio Tab : http://prntscr.com/hvbb50
Subtitle Tab : http://prntscr.com/hvbbbn
DCP Tab : http://prntscr.com/hvbbiv
Then i select JOB---> Make DCP
Is this workflow correct?
The process however is taking forever (almlst 0.1 fps). It's not even scratching my CPU or GPU or RAM. : http://prntscr.com/hvbc1l
Here is my resource utilization : http://prntscr.com/hvbccn
Also, is this supposed to generate a Folder structure that can be copied directly to the disk? Or do I need to gather files from original and the newly generated ones and club them together somehow and then get it copied in a folder?
Please guide.

Re: DCP Playback - Missing Audio
Looks like something is going wrong there. Did you ever create a standard encrypted DCP before, and were you able to test it, created a KDM, play it, etc.?

No. This is the first time I am doing this with dcpomatic. Earlier i worked with the KDM Generator tool as we had a DKDM in place that we used to generate the release KDM and it went really well.
