frame rate conversion 30-25fps

Post by funkytwig »

Hi. the source file I have is 30fps. The cinema says 30 sometimes causes them problems so am thinking of getting DCP-o-Matic to do a 30 to 25fps conversion. Is this likely to work well?

Not likely. The only chances you have is either a considerable slowdown, or jerky movement.

There are some better options with advanced video editing programs, but they are time consuming.

Any news here? I also need to do some 29,97 to 24 conversions.
Is Media Encoder ok for this and what would be best to use? (frame sampling/blending/optical flow?)

And should I convert 29,97 to 23,97 first, and then 23,97 to 24?
