Hi all,
Is there a limit to the position of a subtitle, or i'm safe as long as i'm on the picture.
I want to avoid some credits and put some subs down or left enough
and i'm not sure if CineCanvas has a limit and projectors wan't cut the subs
Thanks
subs position

Re: subs position
There is no real practical limit per specs. As it always depends on the actual projector used (and Cinecanvas has proven to be a shaky implementation), you probably shouldn't stretch it too far, that is, around the edges. Also, keep in mind that some installations may use an excessive amount of cropping or non-standard screen aspect ratios (like 2.0:1).
Personally, I haven't experienced problems as long as you stay reasonable. No problem to make sub-titles top-titles.
I remember DCP-o-matic had an unnecessary limit in an earlier 2.x version, but that should be gone for a while now.

Re: subs position
What makes you say that? It shouldn't be necessary. The subtitle track must have an extent at least equal to the other tracks.
