How to make a 3D DCP to be played by video player-Dolby IMS-3000 normally.

Post by Stephen007 »

Hi everyone,

I would like to ask for advice regarding the issue mentioned in the subject.
I have source materials consisting of separate left-eye and right-eye 4K ProRes MOV video files, with an English 5.1 audio track. I need to replace the audio with a Chinese 5.1 track and add bilingual SRT subtitles in Chinese and English. The subtitles must also have a proper 3D stereoscopic effect when viewed.
I have tried creating a 3D DCP several times, but it still doesn’t seem to work successfully. Could anyone please teach me in detail how to do this? A step-by-step guide would be greatly appreciated, so I don’t miss anything important.

Thank you very much.

Could you tell us about the problems you experienced? Was it with the 3D per se, audio change, or the subtitles?

There are two problems that I have encountered as below:
1. When combining left and right eyes MOV to 3D video files.
2. when making subtitles to be 3D effects when audiences viewed them.

I don't know where I was wrong on making the right settings to make 3D DCP for these two issues.

Thank you!

First try the 3D.

Create a new project. Under the DCP tab, set the '3D' checkbox.
Leave everything else there as it is (2K/24fps).

Change to 'Content' Add both your left and right eye videofiles to the project.

Select each of these video files and for each, set 'Type' (under 'Video) to '3D left only' and '3D right only'.

These are the necessary steps to create a 3D DCP from source content in two separate left/right eye files.

You may need to adjust other parameters, but these are the necessary ones for 3D.

What is the frame rate of your video files?
