Hi,
I can reproduce the bug on Windows 11 using DoM 2.18.43 with Arial Rounded MT Bold.
Strangely, the non-bold version of that font (https://freefonts.co/fonts/arial-rounded-mt-regular) loads and displays correctly in DoM.
And, after loading the non-bold version, I can load the bold one and it displays correctly on the preview.
Font doesn't look like it should

The font problem should be fixed in 2.18.44. Please let me know if you still see problems there!

Great Carl - can you describe shortly what the problem was with specific fonts?
BTW - there was an issue recently with certain DCI servers that crashed with a specific subtitled VF-DCP. Turned out, the studio wanted a very specific font for the german VF, and the font they chose was corrupt or otherwise 'invalid'. The italian OV and english subtitled version using a different font had no issues.
Unfortunately, it was an encrypted SMPTE DCP so I couldn't diagnose the issue further. The VF was mastered by a major facility in Berlin. I assume that no DCI server actually performs any checks on the fonts that come with a DCP (other than hash during ingest). It will probably just load it into the font rendering engine and if there's a problem, it will show only at playout time.

I can now see the rounded font in DCP-O-Matic. However when I make the DCP and view it in DCP Player it doesn't show the correct font and again defaults to a different font. Also not a big issue but when resizing the window in DCP-O-Matic and Player the image stretches and the font jumps around the frame.
One thing to consider is that in Resolve the font outline can be added as inline so the font size doesn't grow bolder, please see the Resolve font with outline added as "inline" for reference. Perhaps it would be possible to add "inline" option in the font appearance effect dropdown?
Also in DOM the outline width is set to 4 and always greyed out for me, is this supposed behavior?
Thank you!

Timed text is typically rendered by the projector or DCI playback server. When using timed text (as opposed to burn-in), you can only use font effects that are supported by Interop/CineCanvas or SMPTE DCP. They do not support 'inline'.

That's strange. Did you download the updated player application when you downloaded the main DCP-o-matic?

Ah, apologies, I didn't realize that would make a difference. It indeed is working now after updating the Player!carl wrote: Sat Jul 04, 2026 9:38 am That's strange. Did you download the updated player application when you downloaded the main DCP-o-matic?
