Hi there,
Created a DCP for a independent film.
Been ok previously but this one seems to be going through harder QC at the distribution team.
I've received this feedback...
"Just want to let you know that the ingest of the DCP has completed and came up with few errors.
These errors would not cause any playback issues, but just wanted to flag in case you wanted them to be remastered.
Validation Results
dcpCheck: no errors
Wailua: no errors
Packman: Errors

set.

outside of the scope of reel 1(EntryPoint: 0 + 0 Duration: 5333) "
The film was set to split into multiple reels.
I've no idea how to remedy these errors (if we don't 'accept' them).
Any ideas?
TIA
Dom

Hi Dom,
These are pretty pedantic errors, I would say!
It's hard to be 100% sure but I would suggest
* DCP tab -> click Metadata... -> Advanced Tab -> tick "Chain" and fill something in (I think this supposed to be the movie theater chain that some DCP is made for - you can probably enter anything).
* DCP tab -> Click Markers... -> Check that FFOB is set to some time in your first reel.
It's hard to imagine anything going wrong if you just ignored these things, though.
Best,
Carl

Re: Flagged error with v2.18.36
Ahh thanks.
I'll try the Chain setting. I'd not used it.
This is being distributed through this company to 5 cinemas, and 3 of those are the same chain, and 2 are not. So.... by setting this, it'll be incorrect for two, but could relieve the error.
As for the FFOB - it was set, but as 0 0 0 0 - as that is where the certifcation card starts to fade up from. Guessing that is bad and maybe I need 12 frames of black first....

Weird - maybe try setting the FFOB to 1 frame later?

Looks like setting the Chain and nudging the FFOB a frame or two is usually enough to satisfy the QC without affecting playback.
