No sound

Post by H00pak »

I create my DCP and play it back in DCP-o-Matic and it sounds fine.

Then I ingest it to the projector and have no sound at all. I’ve tried 6,8, and 16 settings now and really don’t understand what I’m doing even to better diagnose the problem.

Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks.

Can you share the metadata.xml from your DCP-o-matic project?

Do you play it back in DCP-o-matic main application, or in DCP-o-matic player?

What is your relation to the cinema you are testing the DCP in? Can you be sure that audio is set up properly there when you test it?

Is you source audio stereo, mono, or multichannel?

@Carsten Thanks for the reply.

1. In DCP-O-Matic for Mac, I click the DCP tab, open the project and then click the Play button.
2. I've added these files to an existing playlist. After my last ad plays, there is a trailer that plays with full sound. So that's why I think the issue is limited to what I've created in DCP-O-Matic.
3. I don't know on most of these. I'm getting MP4s from vendors. I have one created in Final Cut Pro that is stereo at 48 khz.

Hi,

I suspect you may have hit a bug with where I had to change some details of how sound stream information is stored, and I made a bit of a mess of it. Could you try remaking your DCP after installing the latest stable release?.

It should re-examine your content when you load your projects. Then you can re-make the DCP.

It would also be interesting to test your DCPs in the DCP-o-matic Player. So rather than loading your project into the "main" DCP-o-matic, start the player and load your DCP in there. This is closer to what's happening in the projector.

@Carl,
Thank you a bunch. I downloaded the stable version and the player, which I didn't have installed before.

The player did play both my old and new versions correctly with sound, although I had to play the old ones at quarter resolution to start. Still had a few frames dropped. I'll get down to the theater and see how it turns out. Thank you for your time.

I am attaching the new metadata.xml, in case there are differences.
