Hello everyone,
My colleague just got picture lock on his film. I'm in the process of creating closed captions and a descriptive audio track for it. How do I go about embedding the captions and descriptive track into the DCP? The audio mix on his film is stereo. Also what captioning format should I use for embedding in the DCP? I know the standard is .srt but I read on some forums that .xml is preferred.
Please advise. Thanks

Re: Embedding Closed Captions and Descriptive Audio Track in DCP
You can add the closed captions in whichever format you like (SRT, ASS, SSA, XML, STL) - it doesn't really matter as they will all end up as XML in the end (though DCP-o-matic takes care of that). There are some details in the manual here.
For the descriptive audio you need to add it as a separate sound file to the project, set the project to have 8 audio channels, then map your sound file to the VI (visually-impaired) channel using the audio matrix, as described here.
Do ask if you get stuck.
