Building the server

Post by Kasa »

We are planning to build a server from scratch for assembling DCP content using your product. Here are my questions:
  • Can you advise on a hardware configuration for a graphics card costing between $1,000 and $2,000?
  • Is it important to have an Intel or AMD central processor?
  • What video card specifications should I pay attention to first?
  • How is the license distributed? (One machine, one license?)
  • As an example, the project is in 4K, using Davinci Resolve Studio 20 with CUDA. It renders at approximately 20 frames per second. How much would the speed increase with your product?
    Here are the laptop specifications:
    -Processor: 12th Gen Intel® Core™ i5-12500H, 3100 MHz, cores: 12, logical processors: 16
-Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop GPU
I need your help as the purchase is not cheap, and I would like to make the right and informed choice regarding the hardware.

Thank you!

I do not currently use this, but I was a part of the beta testing, so I have some fps from my usage. Keep in mind this will vary a bit based on a bunch of factors, but with an RTX 4080, running in WSL (which is a significant performance hit and was a pain to setup), I was averaging around 45 fps for a 4k DCP at 200 Mbit/s
