Re: Problem with ASS Subtitles
Leider handelt es sich um eine sehr geschwätzige Doku: 1250 Untertitel! Da wäre es kaum machbar, jeden händisch zu positionieren.

Re: Problem with ASS Subtitles

Re: Problem with ASS Subtitles
bronze13 hatte gestern Probleme, die 2.16.64 auf einem neuen Windows-PC zu installieren.
Komisch; vielleicht könnten wir den Inhalt von "C:\Users\MEINNAME\AppData\Local\dcpomatic2\2.16" sehen.could not open file for writing with C:\Users\MEINNAME\AppData\Local\dcpomatic2\2.16\config.xml.tmp

Re: Problem with ASS Subtitles
The folders \dcpomatic2 and \2.16 did not exist, so I created them. Then I created an empty file config.xml.tmp. All this did not fix the problem.
When installing the 2.17... version I got similar errors.

Re: Problem with ASS Subtitles
Those folders and the .tmp file should all be created automatically by DCP-o-matic. I will add some more error checking in the code that does it.

ALL-CLEAR SIGNAL[/b}
I apologize for my stupid post. The fix is easy as pie:
When starting first time after installation d-o-m installs the a.m. folders and some needed files. To do this it needs admin rights. Right click, mark this option, and: behold! All is well.
In the .17-version ass-subs seem to be shown correctly, at least in my test case.
I will try with the festival film.
Anyway, thanks so much for helping!

Re: Problem with ASS Subtitles
I'm glad you worked it out! Though, we should fix this, as I don't know why it would need admin rights to create those files. Perhaps something changed in Windows 11.
