Minimal/Recommended HW/PC configuration

Post by comanchero »

Hi,

is there any specification on the hardware requirements (for seamless DCP-o-matic workflow) available/published?

I could not find any relevant info on the related pages.
https://dcpomatic.com/manual/html/index.html
https://dcpomatic.com/download
https://dcpomatic.com/faq

Thanks. Best!

https://dcpomatic.com/benchmarks/input.php?id=1 should give you some idea. Currently, one or two CPUs with as many logical cores as possible, and a minimum of 8-12GBytes of RAM is a good starting point. For DCP-o-matic alone, no specific graphics card is required currently. As SSDs now have become cheap, a 1-2 TB M2.SSD will also add to the encoding performance. For a CPU with very many cores and 4k encodings, I would recommend at least 16GB of RAM.

Thank you, @Carsten!

Would you (other users are welcome too, of course) recommend any particular configuration/-s, say from the (Rack-Mount) SuperLogics https://www.superlogics.com range?

More (price level) options would be appraised (by others too, I believe). ;)
