Hi everyone, apologies if this is a simplistic post.
BTW Thanks for a great platform!
I had to change the picture on a locked cut which already had a DCP made with versions for Closed and Open captions...
SO I made a new OV DCP with my new Pro Res edit (thanks DOM).
My question is this. I used the mxf files from within the first DCP versions with subtitles to create new DCPs with the same name as the new main video. I didn't use the original .srt files etc to do this.
The DCPs I have created are valid (I checked) I simply added CCAP and OCAP to the folder name for reference alongside the MOS as per the correct naming procedure. When making them I clicked the check box 'Use as open subtitles & closed subtitles' when making both versions is this going to be okay?
The reason I ask is that the post house that made the original versions have both 'ccap' and 'ocap' generated in the MXF file names within the DCP folder so I want to make sure I've done it correctly...the mxfs within my DCP folders (made from DOM from the previous mxfs) don't have this within the file names...does it matter??
Thanks!!

Re: Open & Closed Captions
I think it should be fine. Details of the filenames are not relevant, so long as the DCP is consistent internally.
I would suggest checking it with the DCP-o-matic Player (at least). There you can check that the closed captions and subtitles appear correctly.

Thanks Carl, yes they appeared in the preview fine - I guess I just wondered if that code was needed to define one as Open and the other as Closed...just double checking.
Thanks for taking the time to reply much appreciated!

Re: Open & Closed Captions
You can also open a separate closed captions window and check there, in case you hadn't seen that.

Re: Open & Closed Captions
Don't rely on DCP-o-matic preview (in main application). Load OV and VF in standalone player separately and check both open and closed subtitles. That's clearly the more reliable test.
