Does that make a difference, unless those characters (or space) appear on the DCP title or annotation text? (Which can be a huge problem.)
Is it a concern, to rename a DCP folder or parent folder in a NAS or LAS, the file system of which support such characters?
Personally, I don't like those characters in any storage, but I find a lot of them on work environments and I am not sure if I should endorse the "should NOT" attitude.

This could be a warning rather than a hard error, I think.

I can't be certain, but my guess is that the folder name has nothing to do with this malfunction and the problem is at the title or annotation text.
The Dolby/Doremi IMSes I am familiar with don't pay any attention to the folder name. (If there is a "/" or something highly improper on linux, they might.)
A pretty good guess, that the culprit is Wraptor.
I would start the investigation by asking for the CPL.
