I agree, but just a side note that the quality of hardware-accelerated H.264 encodes is very poor at bitrates under 30 Mbps for HD content (for M1–M3 Macs... I haven't tested M4, but it seems to use the same encoder). If hardware acceleration is added, there should also be an option to use the software encoder when quality/file size are a priority over speed. |
