libcurl is calling it, lib/timeval.c has code to try to stop it being called if it's not available but that isn't working for some reason.

Looks like that clever stuff isn't in the libcurl we're using at the moment, might just need a bump.

Believed fixed by bumping curl in the environment; seems to work in Mountain Lion VM.
