What I did was this:

  1. Rip the BD-disc with makemkv

  2. Encode to lossless h264 inside mkv container with handbrake (also
    burn in subtitles and crop&scale to 2048x858 inside handbrake).

  3. Make a DCP of the resulting mkv from handbrake.

When I did this I saw the problems I described in my earlier mail
(crushed blacks and pulsating background).
