Summary0002581: Subtitles appearance settings altered after saving and re-opening project
Description

Steps to reproduce (in DOM 2.16.59):

  • Create new DOM project.
  • Add DCP with open subtitles or closed captions where subtitles have "border" effect.
  • Tick "Use as" open subtitles.
  • Open "Appearance" dialogue. Note that "Effect" tickbox is unticked.
  • Note in preview that the subtitles are rendered with outline (as expected).
  • Save project.
  • Note that metadata.xml contains no Effect node in Text section.
  • Re-open project.
  • Open "Appearance" dialogue. Note that "Effect" tickbox is now ticked with "Set to: None" selected.
  • Note in preview that the subtitles are rendered with NO outline.
  • Don't change anything.
  • Save project.
  • Note that metadata.xml now contains an Effect node in Text section with value "none".

When rendering out a ProRes with "Export video file" the subtitles are not rendered with a border. Have not tested what happens when exporting DCP, but I assume it'd be the same.

I assume the bug is that when re-opening the project, no Effect XML node is misinterpreted as equivalent to Effect=none.
