Stereoscopic player is NOT a DCP player, but an MXF player. There is a difference...
Checking the DCP you created by simply importing it into DCP-o-matic again is the easiest. It may not yet have the necessary performance, but it will do CPL interpretation, VFs, subtitles, decryption, multichannel audio mapping, etc.

Hi Carl, resistance has been futile indeed!
only two weeks and your 2.11.19 player already brings the dreamed app we were waiting for.
At quarter resolution --more than enough to verify audio sync and subs--, it plays sync-sound
like a charm on a basic MacBook.
And at half resolution it shows that lower temporal-sampling (around 8 to 12 sps),
is acceptable. This is good news, we are now pretty sure to get a transparent DoM player
the day OpenJPEG** brings us the final work of this summer's task force.
In the meantime, could you show in the 'Performance' pane which one of the four decode modes
is currently active?
Big thanks Carl.

Re: DCP verification player
DoM player 2.11.21 released today is now able to decode and display soft-subtitles !
it becomes a very usable tool on small laptops even.
I confirm that the 16sps sampling reached by the "quarter resolution" decoding
is fast enough to verify 24fps audio sync.
(sure, "half resolution" is not precise enough with its 7sps but it will be
quite soon on the multi thread Macbook next gen CPUs)
BTW: an explanation about the Tab Bar usage would be welcome

Re: DCP verification player
The Tab Bar only duplicates the upper bar, and there is no hint about
laying down any Tabs...
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Re: DCP verification player
I guess that is just a generic OSX GUI function, with no specific support in the player?

Re: DCP verification player
You are right, there is no specific support for this OSX GUI function.
Because the Tab bar can be (de)activated by the DoM player 'view' itself, I thought we had access to the attributes of its name,
but I unsuccessfully tried all possible key combinations to insert a frame locator ; hence my question.
Clicking the TabBar and dragging it down generates a proxy you can slide all over the screen**
but there is no way to store it in a gallery for instant access to a given take.

** the latest nightly built VLC 3.0 DCP player shows the exact same behaviour.

Re: DCP verification player
It appears this mysterious tab bar is a macOS 10.12 feature, Apple adds things into the menu without asking...
" Cut down on desktop clutter by taking advantages of tabs in (almost) every application: every app that uses
the standard window manager now supports tabs, those with custom interfaces, such as Word, do not.
To collate all windows of one app together, you can use the Merge all windows option, which is usually located
in the View or Window menu, depending on the app. Alternatively, you can use the Show Tab Bar option
in the View menu, then you drag-and-drop open windows, combining them into one tabbed window.
Depending on the application, you may also get a ‘+’ icon to create a new tab with a new document;
for example, this option is available in TextEdit. "
Now remains to see how Carl surprises us with this new tool !

Re: DCP verification player
I am also running os x 10.10.2 (pre 10.2) and am not getting that tab option.
HOWEVER my question is more about the Audio side of things.
How can I check to see that my DCP's audio is working correctly?
this is one my my biggest concerns.
As well as Subtitle font / style
Will using DCP o Matic as a player property display the font type / size etc?
The reason I ask as it looks the same as it did before but I changed the font type.
thanks!

Re: DCP verification player
What kind of concerns do you have regarding audio? Essential tests can be done in DCP-o-matic prior to encoding - channel assignments, levels.
