Summary0003167: Add DST support to KDM creator
Description

Not sure here, but would it make sense to add daylight saving time to the KDM creator cinema settings?
At least it would be nice if the opening time and closing time selected resemble the local time of the target cinema all year.

Hi, can you clarify what you mean a little here? So when I create a cinema, I specify whether it has DST somehow?

Yes exactly :-)
When adding a cinema located where DST is used I think it would be most intuitive if the specified timing of the key follows the local time at the cinema.
That would be possible if the user was enabled to specify DST.
I know this i a minor thing and only a real problem in case of very tight KDMs.
While generating a key for use immediately I noticed that even though the key generator "From" time defaults to now, the key first started working an hour later.
I realize that I must have picked the wrong of the two UTC time zones when creating the cinema. I guess that my point is that for the average user it is not trivial to tell which timezone to pick for DST locations, being sure that "now" at this location is not earlier than "now" at the cinema.

See what I mean - I got it mixed up again :-)
"I guess that my point is that for the average user it is not trivial to tell which timezone to pick for DST locations, being sure that "now" at this location is not earlier than "now" at the cinema."
What I ment: "Now" here should not be later than "now" at the cinema if keys are generated with the default begin time and are to be used immediately.

Thanks for the clarification, I'll give it some thought. We talked about some related questions before a few times and the there was quite a strong feeling that issuing KDMs with timing windows so tight that DST matters is asking for trouble and best avoided. Maybe it's not so hard to add DST support though for those who want to play with fire ;)
