| Summary | 0003110: support homebrew livecheck and installer download through cloudflare. | ||||
| Description | dcp-o-matic has been successfully maintained as a cask of homebrew, for automated install and update. However, as of 2025-07-28, the cask has been disabled because: "cannot be reliably fetched due to Cloudflare protections". Please improve support of homebrew, ideally by providing a convenient livecheck of new versions (.json or other) and ensure cloudflare is not restricting downloads from homebrew users. | ||||

Hi, is it the Javascript interstitial that causes problems? It's not enabled at the moment, but unfortunately I can't be sure it won't be needed again in the future - the alternative would be that downloads are broken for everybody, not just homebrew. I guess it would be an option to have a separate server, just for homebrew, where I never turn on cloudflare and just let it die if the bots get hold of it. This is going to be an expense for me, however, in addition to the fact that homebrew already bypasses my donation nag screens. Do you know of any other common solutions to the problem of keeping automated downloads working in the face of bot/DDoS attacks? |
